poem: conversationally

Conversationally, he asked,
"How are you?"
too blessed, too bored and too busy
to really want to listen
to replies such as
"I've been better" and "I am not doing so well"
and so conversationally, I replied,
"Good, thanks!"
too worried, too worn and too wise
to know he really didn't care.
