poem: She had returned.

She had returned.
so I confronted her
armed with upper hand
and sharp split tongue

the second dream
she had all the shots
and I felt each one

she threw me back
slow motion stopping
midway to make pain

thoughtful

why do I give her power
what part of myself
is she supposed to be

step-mother answer me this
why after all these years
have you not left me?
