poem: metaphysical matters

metaphysical matters & multiple choice questions

Select the best possible answer from the choices below.

a)
to think we held such power, so much
magic in ourselves when we were young

and brave! how brave to step carefully
or firmly set our foot down on the line
& dare consequences, to ask questions

like, would this apply to step-mothers too?

b)
Years will pass and you will see her sitting
there eating a hamburger and fries: she will
fake smile and you will shake like a child inside.

c)
you will tempt fate often as you're older
(cross many boundaries, say the magic words)
perhaps realize the cracks have broken you or

d)
none of the above.
