where do you keep yours?

On December 1st I moved back to my hometown. I had several boxes to unpack (mostly books) and my paper diaries & journals collection was organized soon after the Tolkien shelf and prior to the boxes of poetry books filling a bookcase.

my journal collection.
Diary #1 to Journal #32
paper journal collection

I don't see this as a long-term spot for my journals because I'm nearly out of room and I like the thought of having them on their own shelf or in a storage chest (I haven't decided yet?!) and while I'm rambling, I'm remembering how I once saw a photo here in this community many years back of shelves full of journals that looked perfect in the bookcase. This was by someone who had kept journals (or diaries? or notebooks? I forget what they named them!) for several years, at least a few decades. Does anyone else store their journals on bookshelves?

Glancing across the room I see the stack of blank journals that I intend to use and all of them are mismatched. I'm unlikely to change this and like being able to switch it up although I can totally understand the appeal of keeping a collection of a particular favourite blank journal. I have gone through times of using the same journals for a time before using a different one.

We're almost at the end of 2012 and close to beginning 2013.

What journal will you be starting the New Year with?
