poem: say when

say when

think, if i love hard enough
fight for something (this)
believe in something (love)
should it not be enough then

that we should have our fill
from your push away sticky
summer bed to the winter
grab my arm pull me back in

i wanted this spring with you
and every season after, only.

you & me
we've so much flesh
and so much weight
between us

one can only reduce this
to excess and appetite
was this the inevitable
end, this stomach turn?

your turn, my turn, our turn, done.

/ it's not enough
/ i've had enough
/ what would've been
/ enough?
